CREATIVES COLLIDE

One thing that has always remained at the heart of the MIMCO team is the strong sentiment we all share for inspiring and elevating women. So, in keeping with tradition, the idea behind our Creatives Collide project was simple, but profound – invite a group of women who are all currently pioneering ideas and breaking ground in a variety of industries, both internationally and on home soil, to celebrate successes, share experiences and inspire a fresh perspective on creative collaboration.

Earlier this year, as Melbourne was in the midst of the fashion frenzy that is Virgin Australia Fashion Festival, or VAMFF, we held an intimate dinner with some of Australia’s brightest creative and entrepreneurial minds. Situated in the heart of Melbourne’s creative hub, in a former metal works factory, the setting for our #creativescollide dinner was renowned Melbourne restaurant, Cutler and Co. With a beautifully curated menu of artful food and a space that perfectly struck a balance between elegance and simplicity – a mantra we here at MICMO appreciate only too well – it was the perfect space for such an inspiring evening.

With a strong focus on collaboration, the #creativescollide project was driven by our Managing and Creative Director Cathryn Will’s devotion to empowering a collective female spirit – As well as her innate desire to spread the message of #girlpower. Along with the hard work and dedication of the MIMCO team, the founder and editor-in-chief of the Renegade Collective, Lisa Messenger, also played in integral role in an evening where our guests shared their stories, and genuinely connected with one another on such an intrinsic level.

Each of our guests took home an incredibly generous collection of items including contributions of stunning floral displays by the inherently talented Wona Bae, of Loose Leaf Florist, handmade chocolates by Caz Khoo from Nectar and Stone, and thoughtful anecdotes from the Blacklist Store’s, Jaynie Johnston.
