MIMCO ON LOCATION

From the cobblestone streets of Edinburgh to the rolling hills of the Scottish highlands (and the stunning surrounds and Manor House of Bowhill Estate) – we take you behind the scenes of our romantic new season, The Poetic Tempest.

OUR MUSE

Meet Emily Meuleman, the ballerina turned model who gives a radiant performance as our latest muse. Her look is so unique; she naturally brings a beautifully modern androgyny, yet still manages to pull off a very feminine “English Rose” look with absolute ease.

THE COLLECTION

Our designers have mixed decades in the most MIMCO of ways – think period-style statement jewellery combined with modern minimalism and man-style loafers. Monochrome and androgyny reign supreme for now, but as we hit the cooler months, romance is well and truly in the air.

“The styling was inspired by London street style – wide leg and cropped trousers, ruffled shirts and blazers work with the pieces in the first half of the season, with more romantic, cosy pieces pared with the later collection.”
Chantelle, MIMCO Stylist.

CAPTURING THE MOOD

Leading fashion photographer, Duncan Killick, joined us in Scotland to shoot our campaign – stunning locations, Duncan’s incredible use of light and hair and makeup by Clare Thompson, perfectly capture the change in mood as the season progresses.

“When Emily was walking the streets, we liked the idea of a quiff (but in a more feminine way) to play on the Teddy Boy style. As she moved into the country, the look was more wild; the curls were loose, her cheeks were flushed with colour and her lips stained.”

The vibe at this particular MIMCO shoot was rather electric, and our videographer was on set to capture the laughs, the love and everything in-between.
