MIMCO X EFI
28 Oct 2016
Continuing our work with the EFI is something we are very proud of, and passionate about at MIMCO. Our latest collection, our fourth from Kenya and first from Haiti, continues to inspire and empower marginalised communities.
Iona Maclean brought our new accessories with her on her latest trip overseas – capturing scenery as beautiful as our collection is vibrant and exciting.
"If there is one thing that love to support, it is ethical fashion. MIMCO’s collaboration with the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) aims to reduce poverty and empower women and artisans in marginalised communities by providing work and a fair wage.
I was jubilant about getting on board with their vision as well as sport their beautiful creations on my latest trip to Croatia."
"MIMCO and EFI’s latest collaboration is a jewellery collection crafted on the island of Haiti, and through work provides the artisans the power to change their lives. Made from recycled materials, the skilled artisans have utilised cereal packs and hand-rolled ceramics to create each bead individually.”
"I styled my unique beads with a crisp white shirt, some loose pants and my vivaciously vibrant MIMCO x EFI beach tote and pouch (handmade in the EFI's Kenya Hub) to assemble an effortless yet brightly accessorised wardrobe while traveling through Eastern Europe."
