As the centerpiece to our seasonal jewellery collection, our limited edition piece is the ultimate statement accessory. For our Sylph Collar, the MIMCO design team was inspired by rare black orchids and the romanticism behind something being exotic (and slightly dangerous) but also incredibly feminine.
Original sketches outline a piece resembling a bouquet surrounding the neck with petals draping down on to the body.

From our designer, SophieThe neckpiece was built entirely by hand on a mannequin, starting with hand-made resin petals supported by soldered metal framework.
Sophie working on the piece at MIMCO HQOur jewellery designer, Sophie, on what happened next: “Once the floral aspect of the design was resolved, we added leaf-like components which ensnared the orchids, and are detailed with hints of pave-set crystals in shades of grey and black to add the femininity we wanted to achieve.”
