EARTHLY ELEMENTS
15 Jul 2016
Fashion blogger Talisa Sutton knows a thing or two about mixing minimalism with a touch of eclecticism, which is exactly why we asked her to style our new Plateau collection — a collection with a fresh take on the classic MIMCO Turnlock.
Accessories have always been my favourite way to update a new season look; they have the ability to elevate the simplest outfits and can make something old feel brand new again.
When I first saw the latest pieces from MIMCO, I knew they would be a great way to add an eclectic touch to my minimal winter looks. The collection centres around natural forms and a contrast between the organic and the
finely crafted — clusters of crystals, beautiful ivory & tan leathers, gold knotting on jewellery and a flash of patent (on a very suave brogue) are the defining details.
THE (EVERY) DAY BAG
Mix a structured white blouse with cropped denim and an oversized day bag and you've got the perfect combination for running around between meetings and appointments.
THE WEEKEND HIP BAG
To highlight the contrast of the collection, I styled ivory denim, in a cropped, wide-leg style, to work back perfectly with The Plateau Hip (in a matching ivory-toned hue), brogues, and a sharp black blazer.
THE EVENING CLUTCH
For an updated evening look, it’s all about contrasting textures — crystal earrings, a trailing ruffled sleeve, a knit skirt and textured heels all work back with the simplicity of the chic Plateau Clutch.
Winter, I'm ready for you!
