START HERE, TRAVEL ANYWHERE

Dreaming of a chic escape to another city?! Then you're in luck. This season is all about embracing the spirit of travel and exploring new places.
Jasmin Howell, of Friend in Fashion, knows a thing or two about travelling in style —The Fashion Diary of a Wanderlust is the rather appropriate tagline of her blog, so we asked her to road test our latest travel accessories in the lead-up to her next big adventure (and also share her top travel tips!).
What is your go-to travel accessory?
A great oversized tote with separate zippered compartments is a must! Zip away all your important documents in one section, pack a change of shoes for when you’re running around and a wrap or scarf — no one wants to be stuck when it gets cold.
The tote is an essential on and off the plane and MIMCO’s Phenomena Tote is the perfect size, shape and colour (the gold just happens to work with every outfit!).
What is always in your carry-on?
A change of clothes to freshen up when I land; an oversized pair of sunglasses (they hide a multitude of sins after a long-haul flight!); my Laptop to get some work done; and a scarf/wrap to ward off the mid-flight chill.
What does adventure mean to you?
Adventure signifies no fixed start or end, no solid plans and a willingness to explore and adapt to whatever is thrown your way.
What are the destinations you’re currently lusting over?
I have so many amazing places on my lust list – many I’ve been to and can’t get enough (Maldives, Paris, Greece and Croatia) but in terms of a bucket list…I’d love to visit Patagonia, the landscape there is so surreal and unique. I’m not much of a cold weather lover, so rugging up would definitely be a must!
When are you most in your element?
When I’m on the go – meeting new people, exploring new places, learning new customs. I love to always be on the move and get bored very easily, which is part of the reason I love to travel! There is always something new and exciting to uncover and discover.
JASMIN'S TOP TRAVEL TIPS
Take advantage of a stop-over
Being confined to a plane for extended periods is a big ask, regardless of the class you fly. Break up the journey and spend a night or two in another city. Have a stretch, a shower, a sleep (and in my case a shop!). It’s worth it and will help you hit the ground running when you arrive at your final destination.
Travel light
Toting around heavy luggage is a nightmare when traveling across multiple destinations. Pack only the essentials and a wardrobe that can you can easily mix and match. Pack smart, and leave behind heavy items like hair-dryers that can be found easily in most destinations.
Be smart (and safe!)
Keep a copy of your passport in a separate (secure) bag. Trust me…it will be a life saver if you somehow find yourself separated from your passport.
